Job summary

B&G Foods is seeking a Sanitation Technician to maintain cleanliness of production equipment and facility areas in accordance with SSOPs, GMPs, and company standards. This role supports food safety and quality initiatives while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning production lines, operating cleaning equipment, handling chemicals safely, documenting sanitation activities, and contributing to continuous improvement and cross-training.

Qualifications

• Read and follow SOPs and chemical labels.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math and reading comprehension.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous sanitation or manufacturing experience.

• Clean and sanitize areas as assigned: production lines, equipment, floors, walls, and facility areas per SSOP and Master Cleaning Schedule.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, genie booms, and automated floor scrubbers.
• Use and handle cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
• Perform self-inspections and document sanitation activities accurately.
• Maintain sanitation logs and report any damage or unsafe conditions.
• Support food safety and quality programs by identifying and reporting deviations.
• Assist with packing, sorting, and material handling as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and GMPs.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-training.
