Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize food-contact equipment, processing equipment, and production areas per SSOPs.
• Safely use cleaning tools and approved sanitation chemicals, including corrosive chemicals.
• Follow all safety, GMP, quality, production, training, housekeeping, and SOPs.
• Inspect areas/equipment for cleanliness and report progress or issues to supervisor.
• Work safely around large processing equipment amid changing conditions (wet/hot/cold).
• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties as assigned.

Job description

Pay: $27.27 per hour plus Shift Differential: $1.00 per hour (8pm-5am)

Shift & Working Hours: Monday -Thursday & Saturday Shift; 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM; Weekends/Overtime/Holidays as needed.

In this role, you'll be part of the Land O’Lakes, Inc. manufacturing team, responsible for the overall cleaning of all food contact equipment in the production's areas. You will ensure that all equipment is being cleaned per the sanitation standard operating procedures. Join our team to become part of a member-owned co-op that is Rooted In Tomorrow.

The Sanitation Associate is required to work in an environment that is wet, very humid and undergoes extreme temperature changes, from very hot to very cold. Due to the changing environment, a worker must constantly be aware of the effects of these changes. The sanitation worker will also be working around large processing equipment in which chemicals will be used to complete the sanitation process. The sanitation worker must be able to work as a team along with other members of the crew, under stressful conditions and be flexible and willing to perform varying tasks per the supervisor's instructions and in accordance with all safety guidelines mandated by the employer.

To become a successful member of the Sanitation department, a person must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, able to keep up in a fast-paced environment, and not afraid to get "dirty."

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize food-contact equipment, processing equipment, and production areas in accordance with sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs).
• Safely use cleaning tools and approved sanitation chemicals, including corrosive chemicals, as required for assigned tasks.
• Follow all safety, good manufacturing practice, quality, production, training, housekeeping, and standard operating procedure requirements.
• Inspect assigned areas and equipment for cleanliness and communicate sanitation progress, issues, or concerns to the supervisor and production operators.
• Work safely around large processing equipment and remain aware of changing environmental conditions, including wet, humid, hot, and cold areas.
• Complete general housekeeping and cleaning duties as assigned.
• Work effectively as part of a team, arrive on time, complete assigned tasks by established deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Perform multiple tasks and maintain pace in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
• Follow supervisor instructions
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience And Skills

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• At least 6 months of industrial manufacturing, sanitation, cleaning, or related work experience.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability and willingness to safely work with sanitation chemicals, including corrosive chemicals.
• Ability to communicate work progress and concerns to supervisors and production employees.
• Willingness to learn new skills, solve problems, and troubleshoot within the scope of the role.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a respectful approach when working with others.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.

Preferred Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or associate degree.
• One or more years of manufacturing, food production, industrial sanitation, or cleaning experience.
• Experience using enterprise software or sanitation programs.
• Basic understanding of food-processing equipment and operating principles.
• Experience identifying and reporting basic mechanical or system issues.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent movement, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, and climbing.
• Ability to perform duties while wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work in wet, very humid, noisy, hot, and cold environments for extended periods.
• Ability to work in areas where dust and cleaning chemicals may be present.
• Ability to work safely around large processing equipment.
