Job summary

Daybreak Foods is seeking a Sanitation Technician in Johnstown, Ohio responsible for cleaning and sanitizing egg processing equipment on a daily basis. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), working with chemicals and cleaning equipment.

The schedule involves working three days one week and four the next. Ideal candidates will have previous sanitation experience and be comfortable with manual labor. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) or equivalent practices is highly desirable.
• Ability to follow sanitation methods and safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble processing equipment daily.
• Review chemical use and maintain proper training on equipment.
• Record keeping and compliance with GMP's.

Job description

Summary

The Sanitation Technician is responsible of cleaning and sanitizing the egg processing equipment on a daily basis following the processing shift. The schedule will be working for three days one week and four days the following week-continuing with this rotation. The Sanitation Technician will report to the Processing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for dissembling, cleaning, sanitizing and reassembling the processing equipment on a daily basis
• Requires working with chemicals, high pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, use of a hose and simple mechanical tools
• Maintain training on the correct use of equipment, chemicals and their MSDS's
• Review the sanitation chemicals with the supervisor including use, mixing, appropriateness, etc.
• Responsible for record keeping/paperwork
• Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
• Maintain equipment and keep in good repair
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

• Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable
• Training for egg specific equipment would be provided
• Familiarity with GMP's or equivalent practices is highly desirable

Physical Demands

Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
