Job summary

Golden Pet Manufacturing seeks a hands-on Team Leader for our Seward, NE facility. You will lead the day-to-day sanitation team, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to cGMP, SSOPs and 5S while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

You will coordinate cleaning schedules, manage inventory of chemicals and supplies, and partner with Safety, Production, Maintenance, FSQ, HR and Logistics to keep the plant audit-ready every day and drive continuous improvement in sanitation performance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of sanitation leadership experience in food manufacturing.
• AS or BS degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field.
• PCQI or HACCP certifications are preferred.
• Willingness to work varying shifts and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow safety, quality and sanitation policies; report hazards.
• Mentor, train and coach sanitation team members to drive engagement and internal customer service.
• Plan cleaning schedules and allocate resources for changeovers and daily activities.
• Enforce SSOPs and MSS; support sanitation manual development; understand cGMP.
• Prepare plant to be audit ready daily.
• Manage chemical and consumable inventory levels.
• Adhere to SOPs and 5S; maintain hygiene and housekeeping.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Work safely, complying with all safety, quality and sanitation policies and procedures and proactively identify and report potential safety hazards so they can be corrected.
• Assist Sanitation Manager to effectively mentor, train and coach the day and mid-shift sanitation team members to drive engagement, inclusion as well as focus on internal customer service.
• Assist Sanitation Manager to plan cleaning schedules and proper allocation of resources (labor, supplies, equipment and time) while planning and executing for successful changeovers, sanitation weekends and daily activities.
• Enforce sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) and master sanitation schedule (MSS); support development and maintain the sanitation manual; Understands cGMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of safe and quality product(s).
• Assisting creating and adjusting schedules for employees to prepare the plant to be audit ready every day.
• Assist managing chemical and consumable inventory levels throughout the plant daily.
• Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs), carrying out duties following cGMP and 5S practices, and being responsible for hygiene and housekeeping in a specified work area.
• Work collaboratively and cross functionally with other departments including Safety, Production, Maintenance, FSQ, HR and Logistics.

Preferrd Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to plan work daily, work independently and be a self-starter and a highly motivated individual
• Ability to work with a team and effectively interact with other departments.
• 1 year of sanitation leadership experience in food manufacturing. 2 years of sanitation leadership experience in food manufacturing without preferred education and certifications.
• AS or BS Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or other related degree.
• Certifications for PCQI (Preventative Control Qualified Individual), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) or related Food Security and Sanitation training courses.
