Job summary

Fortrex is seeking a Lead Person to supervise its sanitation crew and drive clean, safe, and compliant sanitation practices across a plant area. You will train and guide team members, partner with supervisors, and help uphold safety and quality standards in daily operations.

The role requires leadership, sanitation experience, and the ability to follow directions while maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards in a wet, hot, or cold production environment.

Qualifications

• Must have 6+ months of sanitation or food processing experience.
• Ability to take direction from manager and be accountable for actions.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Able to work in extreme temperature fluctuations and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead sanitation crew within plant area and support the supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation procedures are followed with management, team members, customers, and regulators.
• Maintain open communication and report issues or damaged parts/equipment to supervisor.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace; ensure areas are ready for inspections (QA/USDA).
• Handle chemicals within specified limits and provide PPE as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
