Job summary

Fortrex is seeking an experienced Lead Person to supervise the sanitation crew across a plant area, guiding daily activities and ensuring safe, compliant practices. You will train team members, collaborate with supervisors, and support regulatory requirements to maintain top sanitation standards.

The role requires 18+ years of age, leadership ability, and 6+ months in sanitation/food processing, with the ability to work in hot, wet, or cold environments and wear PPE.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 6+ months of experience in sanitation and/or food processing industry.
• Ability to take direction and instruction from manager and be accountable for own actions.
• Safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

Responsibilities

• Provide directions for the sanitation crew within a plant area.
• Train and assist team members and support the supervisor as needed.
• Coordinate with management, team members, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
• Maintain open communications with all team members and meet with the supervisor regularly to address issues.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace in designated areas.
• Ensure QA and USDA standards are met.
• Handle chemicals within specified limits and provide PPE as required.
