Job summary

Fortrex is seeking an experienced Lead Person to oversee sanitation operations in a plant setting. You will direct a sanitation crew, ensure compliance with QA and USDA standards, and collaborate with management and regulatory agencies to maintain a spotless, safe work environment.

This on-site role requires leadership, vigilance, and the ability to work in hot or cold conditions with appropriate PPE. Fortrex values teamwork and ongoing training to improve safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Leadership and decision-making abilities required.
• 6+ months experience in sanitation or food processing.
• Ability to follow directions from management and be accountable.
• Safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

Responsibilities

• Direct sanitation crew within a plant area and provide guidance as needed.
• Coordinate with management, team members, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace in designated plant areas.
• Ensure tasks meet QA and USDA standards and inspect equipment for clean pre-op readiness.
• Handle chemicals within specified limits and monitor PPE usage.
• Assist training team members and support as requested by supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
