Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking a sanitation supervisor to oversee and validate all sanitation activities ensuring compliance with food safety standards. You will train associates, manage CIP/SIP systems, and lead environmental monitoring programs.

The role requires 3–5 years of production/operations management, strong communication, and flexibility to work nights/weekends. You will collaborate with Ecolab on cost-saving projects and support safety and waste-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of production and operations management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff.
  • Continued sanitation and manufacturing training preferred.
  • Ability to use problem solving and analytical skills for sanitation decisions.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, verify, and validate sanitation activities to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure sanitation associates are trained to safely use sanitation chemicals for CIP and environmental sanitation.
  • Ensure GMP and housekeeping procedures are followed and plant is ready for inspections.
  • Manage Master Sanitation Schedule, CIP/SIP systems, and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Implement sanitation and allergen preventive controls within the Food Safety Plan.
  • Verify records related to sanitation schedules and inspections.
  • Lead and train the sanitation team; provide feedback and guidance.
  • Collaborate with Ecolab on cost-saving projects and equipment needs.
  • Support quality, safety, and waste reduction goals using company tools.
  • Communicate sanitation requirements to Plant Leadership.
  • Be available for night and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Oversee, verify, and validate all sanitation activities to assure the facility and equipment operate in compliance with defined food safety and sanitation standards. Ensure that all sanitation associates are trained to safely use sanitation chemicals for CIPs and environmental sanitation.

  • Ensure that proper GMP & housekeeping procedures are followed plant-wide as outlined by Shamrock Policy and that the plant is ready for FDA, State, customer, internal, and external inspections.
  • Oversee and manage plant Master Sanitation Schedule, Clean-In-Place systems, Sterilize-In-Place systems, and environmental monitoring programs
  • Understand and implement sanitation and allergen preventive controls as they apply to the facility Food Safety Plan
  • Verify and file all records associates with Master Sanitation Schedule, CIP Titration logs, CIP Charts, and Pre-Operational Inspections
  • Leads and trains the Sanitation Team in all clean-up activities in the facility and provides feedback to associates in sanitation team
  • Work with Ecolab Account Manager on cost-savings projects, managing equipment fund, and equipment necessary to execute Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Support the company’s operational priorities by looking for ways to improve Quality, Safety, and Waste Reduction/Productivity. Use company issued tools to complete projects as assigned.
  • Communicates all special sanitation requirements to Plant Leadership
  • Must be willing to work night and weekend hours as needed

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 to 5 years of production & operations management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates and teams
  • Continued training in sanitation and manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to use problem solving skills and analysis to make decisions for the plant sanitation program
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
