Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company in Phoenix, AZ, seeks an Equipment Operator/Maintenance worker to run and maintain palletizers, wrappers, forklifts and related equipment with quality as the priority. You will work in a team, communicate professionally, and contribute to department production goals while keeping a clean, safe work environment.

You must follow GMPs, wear PPE, and report malfunctions or accidents promptly.

Qualifications

  • Complete tasks in a safe & efficient manner to keep the process moving forward.
  • Follow Lock Out / Tag Out policies and other safety policies.
  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities listed above and (not listed) that will ensure safe and quality conformance to Shamrock Farms, Federal and State standards
  • A team player assisting other operators for a safe, quality, and efficient process
  • Successful operator understanding all procedures associated with this position
  • Wear and use a company provided radio to communicate operational and mechanical issues as they arise throughout your shift.
  • Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and have the ability to work and maneuver in tight and awkward areas and positions.
  • Operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise.
  • Operate and clean equipment with a sense of urgency to maximize throughput and minimize downtime. Quality first.

Responsibilities

  • Report malfunctions on equipment and accidents.
  • Maintain safe surroundings and wear PPE.
  • Ensure GMP compliance and clean work area.
  • Monitor palletizing process and perform routine maintenance.
  • Communicate issues related to equipment with operators and supervisors.
  • Make adjustments to equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot basic to moderate operating issues.
  • Perform line changeovers as scheduled by production.

Job description

Run and maintain equipment such as palletizers, wrappers, forklifts and other related equipment with in the Plant, with quality being the major concern. Be able to effectively work in a team environment and communicate (verbal and written) with people on a professional level. Contributes to overall department production goals, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Understand and act in accordance with our core values listed below.

Essential Duties
  • Report all malfunctions on equipment and report all accidents
  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times and work with safe behaviors
  • Wear all required P.P.E.
  • 100% compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Closely monitor the palletizing process
  • Maintain and PM palletizers as outlined in the palletizer manuals. Perform other routine maintenance as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, on shift supervisor or other management personnel.
  • Communicate all issues related to maintaining and operating the palletizing equipment.
  • Make adjustments to equipment as needed to efficiently and effectively operate the line with minimal down time.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
  • Cleaning of equipment to include hand cleaning
  • Perform changeovers as dictated by the production schedule.
  • Order supplies to maintain equipment.
  • Follow Quality Assurance standards and specifications
  • Ability to perform line changeovers in a safe and efficient matter
  • Monitor and maintain equipment
  • Maintain a clean environment at all times
  • Communicate with operators in a timely manner when issues arise.
  • Program new pallet patterns as new business arises.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
