Job summary

City of Staunton is seeking a Sanitation Worker to collect recycling and refuse from residential and business locations. The role includes serving as a back-up driver and working four 10-hour days with occasional Saturdays.

Must be physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds and riding the back of a refuse truck. Class B CDL is highly desired; opportunity to advance with CDL to higher pay.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of lifting 40 lb regularly and up to 70 lb occasionally.
• Must be able to ride on back of a refuse truck for extended periods.
• Experience with sanitation or CDL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect recycling and refuse from homes and businesses.
• Work four 10-hour days: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri; some Saturdays.
• Backup driver for trash and snow removal.
