Job summary

Griffith Foods in Alsip, Illinois is hiring a Sanitation Operator for the third shift (Sun-S Thurs). The role cleans and sanitizes all plant areas, disassembles and detail-cleans equipment, and ensures compliance with GMPs.

You will follow sanitation schedules, operate cleaning equipment, and handle chemicals safely. Qualifications include English fluency, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience in USDA-regulated environments; onsite work required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
• Experience in USDA-regulated manufacturing is preferred.
• Able to read, write and understand English, and follow detailed instructions.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work from heights up to 30 feet.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and onsite in Alsip, IL.

Responsibilities

• Keep plant clean and audit-ready, including chemical spill cleanup and wall/floor maintenance.
• Disassemble and detail-clean production equipment.
• Follow sanitation schedules monthly, weekly, and daily.
• Maintain sanitation equipment with regular maintenance checks.
• Operate recycling bailers and Gama jets.
• Apply, mix, and monitor cleaning chemicals; disinfect surfaces.
• Operate riding scrubber; forklift training where applicable.
• Adhere to GMPs and department procedures.
