Job summary

Select Milk Producers is a major dairy cooperative with a focus on sanitation, food safety, and continuous improvement. The role supports plant sanitation across the facility, coordinating with operations on sanitation issues and food safety initiatives.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and a safety-first mindset. You will work within a team to ensure compliance, cleanliness, and quality across processing areas in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Must follow all safety procedures and operate with care.
• Strong sanitation knowledge and willingness to participate in HACCP programs.
• Ability to troubleshoot small problems and escalate when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Clean and maintain walls, ceilings, floors, pipes, and fixtures.
• Assist in cleaning processing equipment.
• Help with the Pest Control program by alerting Pest Control Service of sightings.
• Assist in GMP / Sanitation Audits.
• Learn cleaning compounds and sanitizers used at the plant for chemical management.
• Participate in sanitation/food safety training.
• Perform wastewater sampling and analysis as directed by EH&S Supervisor.
• Support continuous improvement through efficiency efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Support the plant sanitation activities in all areas of the facility. This role will be involved in all aspects of sanitation and food safety, including but not limited to audits, HACCP program execution, sanitation, and working with operations personnel on sanitation issues. Work with production to coordinate and track food safety/plant initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Clean and maintain all walls, ceilings, floors, pipes, and miscellaneous fixtures as required.
• Assist in the cleaning of all processing equipment.
• Help with the Pest Control program by alerting Pest Control Service of any sightings.
• Assist in GMP / Sanitation Audits.
• Learn the usage and application of different cleaning compounds and sanitizers utilized at the plant to ensure chemical management program is in compliance.
• Participate in training related to Sanitation and Food Safety.
• Solid working knowledge of operations and corresponding systems.
• Assist in the maintenance of sanitation requirements and related training.
• Perform wastewater sampling and analysis as directed by Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor.
• Support a company culture of continuous improvement by participating in efficiency and improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
