Job summary

Select Milk Producers, a major dairy cooperative, seeks a dedicated sanitation associate for plant sanitation, hygiene, and site safety. You will support sanitation across all facility areas, aid in HACCP compliance, and work with operations to drive food safety initiatives.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, and flexibility to assist with various sanitation and cleaning tasks within a dairy processing environment.

Qualifications

• Must work in a safe, efficient manner and follow all safety procedures.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot small problems and be able to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.
• Must be willing to ask for assistance when the process is unclear.
• Must be able to operate the equipment effectively after the appropriate break-in period.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Clean and maintain all walls, ceilings, floors, pipes, and miscellaneous fixtures as required.
• Assist in the cleaning of all processing equipment.
• Help with the Pest Control program by alerting Pest Control Service of any sightings.
• Assist in GMP / Sanitation Audits.
• Learn the usage and application of different cleaning compounds and sanitizers utilized at the plant to ensure chemical management program is in compliance.
• Participate in training related to Sanitation and Food Safety.
• Solid working knowledge of operations and corresponding systems.
• Assist in the maintenance of sanitation requirements and related training.
• Perform wastewater sampling and analysis as directed by Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor.
• Support a company culture of continuous improvement by participating in efficiency and improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary Of Functions

Support the plant sanitation activities in all areas of the facility. This role will be involved in all aspects of sanitation and food safety, including but not limited to audits, HACCP program execution, sanitation, and working with operations personnel on sanitation issues. Work with production to coordinate and track food safety/plant initiatives.
