Schwan’s Company is expanding its new Asian-style food manufacturing facility in Sioux Falls, SD. We seek a Sanitation Manager to lead sanitation activities, ensure compliance with USDA/FDA standards, and drive continuous improvement across high-volume production lines.

Relocation assistance is available. The role requires coordinating with multiple departments, overseeing PPE usage, and maintaining strict sanitation and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of sanitation-related experience, with 2+ years leading a team.
• Experience with SSOP, USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP in food manufacturing.
• Ability to comply with company and federal regulations.
• Experience generating data from electronic general ledger systems such as SAP.

Join our team as a Sanitation Manager!

What You Will Do:

• Confer with multiple production departments to schedule sanitizing and cleaning assignments, responding to reports of sanitation problems and USDA and FDA issues, and monitor sanitation performance as needed to verify guidelines and procedures costing specifications and system data.
• Manage the effective utilization of employees’ skills, development, quality, housekeeping, safety, utilization of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), policy administration, employee relations, scheduling, cost control, and coordination of all sanitation activities with multiple crews.
• Prepare and compile required company and government reports within required deadlines and retain as required for production and food safety audits required in food manufacturing.
• Investigates ways to reduce, waste downtime and improve equipment and employee utilization in our continuous efforts to improve processes utilized; presents proposals to Manager for review and approval.
• Manages trains and develops subordinates.
• The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, face mask, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots.

What We Look For:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of related experience in sanitation and/or full cycle cleaning, ideally in a manufacturing setting, with 2+ years leading a team of sanitation staff.
• Food Manufacturing Experience and solid working knowledge of SSOP, USDA, FDA, HACCP, and GMP.
• Understanding and ability to comply with company and federal regulations and procedures.
• Basic skills in the generation of data from electronic general ledger systems such as SAP.
• Good mechanical aptitude within a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $125,000 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
