Job summary

Fortrex is seeking a Lead Sanitation Person for the 3rd shift in Fayetteville, AR. The role directs a sanitation crew, ensuring a spotless and compliant plant environment, with leadership responsibilities and interaction with management, customers, and regulators.

The position requires 6+ months in sanitation/food processing, strong leadership and safety awareness, and the ability to work in extreme temperatures. On-site, permanent, full-time with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Leadership and decision making skills are required.
• 6 or more months of experience in sanitation and/or food processing industry.
• Ability to take direction and instruction from manager and be accountable for own actions.
• Safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the sanitation crew within a designated area of the plant.
• Coordinate with management, team members, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
• Maintain open communications with all team members and meet with the supervisor regularly.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of equipment and workspace; address issues with parts/equipment as needed.
• Inspect equipment to ensure areas are clean for pre-op inspections and QA/USDA standards.
• Handle chemicals within specified limits and ensure PPE is provided and used.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
