Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. seeks a sanitation worker to clean and sanitize production equipment and areas to meet food safety and company standards.

Responsibilities include dry pick-up of inedible materials, cleaning with high-pressure hoses, handling sanitizing chemicals, and following USDA, HACCP and GMP policies. PPE must be worn and safety procedures followed. Weekend and overtime work may be required. Physical work includes standing 8–10 hours and lifting up to 50 lbs in wet, cold environments.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Perform dry pick-up of inedible materials from equipment and floors.
• Clean equipment using high-pressure hoses.
• Execute cleaning and sanitation activities using approved chemical agents (sanitizers, acids, caustics).
• Handle and mix approved sanitation chemicals in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow USDA, HACCP, and GMP policies to ensure food safety.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out.
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must be willing and able to work in wet, humid, and extremely cold environments.
• Willing and able to perform frequent walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
• Willing and able to operate high-pressure hoses for extended periods.
• Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
