Job summary

A leading poultry processing company in Pennsylvania is seeking a cleaning technician to ensure the effective sanitation of processing rooms and equipment. The successful candidate will perform cleaning tasks, conduct self-inspections for food safety compliance, and may handle hazardous materials with provided PPE. Must be capable of lifting heavy loads and working in various environmental conditions. This role is critical in maintaining high quality and safety standards in food processing.

Qualifications

• Understanding of sanitation standards required by USDA.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (wet, hot, humid, cold).
• Experience with personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Safely clean and sanitize processing rooms and equipment.
• Perform self-inspection (pre-op) in preparation for USDA inspection.
• Ensure all equipment meets sanitation standards for production.

JOB SUMMARY

To safely clean and sanitize processing rooms and equipment while understanding and complying with all Food Safety and Safety policies and procedures. Perform self-inspection (pre-op) in preparation for inspection by Quality Assurance and USDA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Other duties may be assigned)

• Using high-pressure hoses and chemical applications, clean all equipment being used by production.
• Make sure to follow and know all 7 Steps of Sanitation
• Perform self-inspection (pre-op) of all general areas (floors, drains, walls, etc.) and equipment in preparation for Quality Assurance and USDA
• Ensure all equipment meets sanitation standards as required by USDA and ensure the room is ready on time for production to start processing.
