Job summary

Blount Fine Foods is seeking a 3rd shift Sanitation II worker to maintain sanitation of manufacturing and processing areas, including trash and cardboard disposal, during production periods. The role requires attention to GMPs and SOPs, with HACCP training preferred.

Duties include cleaning equipment, performing pre-op inspections, and reporting sanitation concerns. Work hours are 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM on the 3rd shift, with responsibilities to coordinate with QA and sanitation management to

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining sanitation in food processing environments.
  • Familiarity with GMPs and SOPs.
  • Trained in HACCP and allergen control is a plus.
  • Ability to produce accurate paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and inspects all process equipment for conformity to sanitation laws and plant standards.
  • Perform Pre-Op inspection on sanitation state with QA/USDA personnel.
  • Self directed cleaning of equipment and work areas including CIP checks.
  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
  • Maintains and updates chemical cleaning procedures.
  • Coordinates with Quality Assurance and Sanitation mgmt on concerns.
  • Recommends changes to improve sanitation standards and process effectiveness.
  • Completes required paperwork accurately.
  • Provides weekly review reports of inspections and violations.

Description

Summary Responsible for the efficient and appropriate sanitation of Manufacturing and Processing areas, including trash and cardboard disposal, during production periods. In event of absence, position will be filled by adequately trained personnel.

Shift: 3rd Shift Sanitation II – 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.

  • Cleans and inspects all process equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards in an efficient manner.

  • Perform Pre-Op inspection on sanitation state with QA and/or USDA personnel.

  • Self directed cleaning of equipment and work areas, including periodical checks of CIP equipment that does not get broken down daily, to check for effectiveness of cleaning.

  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.

  • Maintains and keeps updated all chemical cleaning procedures.

  • Works closely with Quality Assurance and Sanitation mgmt regarding any sanitation concerns.

  • Confers with management on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and effectiveness of process.

  • Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.

  • Provides weekly review reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.

Responsibilities for Food Safety

  • Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
  • Must adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and all Food Safety policies.
  • Must adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
  • Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities and individuals.
  • If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), must be trained in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).

Positional accountabilities

  • 100% adherence to all company GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures); no deviations.
  • Ability to work in an efficient and organized fashion.

Production Sanitation 1:

  • Includes all the previous responsibilities with potentially the addition of:

  • operate the barrel washroom machine

  • operate the trash room

  • operate the outside cleaner
