Job summary

King Soopers is seeking a store cleaner to maintain safe, sanitary conditions throughout the store and assist with exterior entrance maintenance. You will provide customer service, operate cleaning equipment, and ensure health department compliance in daily store operations.

The role requires teamwork, basic math, and strong safety awareness, with opportunity for growth within the Kroger family of companies. Training will cover proper cleaning procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend technical manuals.
• Perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Read and write to complete forms.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrate safety awareness and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and communicate with store associates.
• Operate equipment to clean and maintain store floors.
• Clean and restrooms, refill supplies, and dispose of trash.
• Clean walls, vents, ceilings, and refrigerated cases when needed.
• Move equipment and displays to facilitate cleaning.
• Replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment in departments.
• Shampoo and vacuum mats and rugs; use proper cleaning protocols.
• Prepare and use cleansers and sanitizers safely.
• Spread ice melt and shovel snow from entrances as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a calm, cooperative manner.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Capable of performing essential job functions with or without accommodations.
