Job summary

CJ Schwan's is hiring for a full-time sanitation role in the specialty foods plant, offering a strong benefits package and weekend/shift flexibility. The position focuses on cleaning and sanitizing equipment, documenting chemical use, and ensuring microindicator tests pass to keep lines production-ready.

You will work on the 3rd shift (7pm–4:30am) with a base pay of $18.50/hr plus a $1.50 shift differential, and you’ll join a growing team within a famous brand portfolio including Red Baron,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 0–1 year of related experience in sanitation, food manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment.
• Basic understanding of facility cleaning procedures and compliance with safety standards (OSHA, GMPs).
• Ability to follow regulatory, customer, and company sanitation policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate steam and high-pressure hoses while safely cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and facility to ensure all soil and contaminates are removed per procedures.
• Operate COP tank cleaning equipment to clean disassembled equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as directed.
• Follow sanitation schedules to conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line.
• Use and document chemical use to stated concentrations and for appropriate applications.
• Verify and document that correct chemicals and concentrations are used and that cleaning and sanitizing is complete to deliver equipment and infrastructure that is clean and passes all micro indicator tests.

• Ability to follow regulatory, customer, and company sanitation policies and procedures.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including hot/cold and wet/dry areas.
• Flexible availability to work full-time, overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as required.
