Job summary

CJ Schwan's is hiring for a full-time sanitation role at our Specialty Foods Plant in Minnesota. Starting pay is $18.50 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential for 6 p.m. – 6 a.m. This 3rd shift position runs 7:00 PM–4:30 AM, with nightly overtime potential and opportunities for advancement.

The role involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment, following safety and GMP procedures, and documenting chemical use and cleanliness levels. A positive, safety-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety standards (OSHA, GMP).
• Ability to follow sanitation policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate steam and high-pressure hoses to clean equipment safely.
• Use COP tank cleaning equipment to clean disassembled equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as directed.
• Follow sanitation schedules and document routine cleaning.

What You Will Do

• Operate steam and high-pressure hoses while safely cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and facility to ensure all soil and contaminates are removed per procedures.
• Operating COP tank cleaning equipment to clean disassembled equipment.
• Disassembling and reassembling equipment as directed.
• Following sanitation schedules to conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line.
• Using and documenting chemical use to stated concentrations and for appropriate applications.
• Verifying and documenting that correct chemicals and concentrations are used and that cleaning and sanitizing is complete to deliver equipment and infrastructure that is clean and passes all micro indicator tests.

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 0--1 year of related experience in sanitation, food manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of facility cleaning procedures and compliance with safety standards (OSHA, local, state, and federal) and GMPs.
• Ability to follow regulatory, customer, and company sanitation policies and procedures.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including hot/cold and wet/dry areas.
• Flexible availability to work full-time, overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as required.
