The Sanitation Associate functions as a vital member of the operations team at Fortune Fish & Gourmet. The primary responsibility of this position is to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness within Fortune's facilities and equipment, thereby ensuring product quality and maintaining process integrity. This objective is accomplished through effective collaboration with operations personnel to develop and implement appropriate sanitation solutions for the organization.
Facility Cleaning: Clean floors, walls, and drains. Remove waste, sort recycling, and maintain a highly organized workspace.
Equipment Washdown: Disassemble, scrub, and sanitize complex seafood processing machinery, tables, and conveyor belts according to established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
Chemical Handling: Safely dilute and apply heavy-duty cleaning chemicals and sanitizers, ensuring appropriate ratios and adherence to safety guidelines
Works closely with operations to ensure a clean environment and quality product.
Follows company policies to ensure food safety and quality. Works to maintain and improve the sanitation process at Fortune.
Monitor and report any potential contamination issues to the Supervisor immediately.
Compliance & Documentation: Sign off on sanitation logs and ensure the facility meets Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and local health regulatory requirements
Keeps the supply closet room orderly and clean.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all Fortune employees.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Experience: 1 plus years of experience in janitorial work or sanitation, preferably within a food processing, meat, or seafood environment.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Ethic: Demonstrated desire to work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
Physical Demands: Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds. Comfort working in wet, cold, or freezing environments is required
