Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Le Sueur, Minnesota, is seeking a sanitation team member to maintain cleanliness of the Sanovo Opti-600 grader and related egg packing equipment. The role runs 3:30pm–11:30pm on a rotating weekend schedule.

Responsibilities

• Works in a team environment and completes sanitation assignments in a timely manner.
• Cleans all related egg packing equipment and facilities according to the master sanitation cleaning schedule.
• Operate CIP system to clean the accumulator.
• Manually clean floors, walls, conveyors, drains, packers, and related items; perform general cleaning.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning.
• Document cleaning information in worksheets and sanitation schedule.
• Use of chemicals to clean equipment and related items; titration of chemicals for proper concentration.
• Anticipates needs, organizes duties, troubleshoots, and solves problems.
• Complies with Safety and GMP policies and reports issues promptly.
• Maintains regular attendance in relation to production scheduling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Grading sanitation team works under the direction of the Grading manager and Grading supervisor in the proper cleaning of the Sanovo Opti-600 grader, egg packers, washer, and related egg packing equipment and facilities. The sanitation position works from 3:30pm-11:30pm on a rotating shift every other weekend.

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works in a team environment and complete sanitation assignments in a timely manner.
• Cleans all related egg packing equipment and facilities according to the master sanitation cleaning schedule.
• Operate the CIP system to clean the accumulator.
• Manually clean floors, walls, conveyors, drains, packers, stackers, doors, removes garbage and cleans garbage containers; performs general cleaning in other areas of the plant as directed.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for proper cleaning.
• Documents cleaning information in work sheets and sanitation schedule.
• Use of chemicals to clean equipment and related items
• Titration of chemicals for proper concentration.
• Anticipates needs, organizes duties, troubleshoots, and problem solves.
• Complies with all company Safety and GMP policies.
• Immediately reports and food safety or quality issues to management or other individual authorized to initiate action.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Expereince Required

• A High School diploma or equivalency, preferred.
• Food manufacturing or food plant sanitation experience, desirable.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Knowledge of food manufacturing/processing equipment.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, using units of measurement.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively and in a way other team members understand.
• Ability to read and comprehend work related documents and carry out work instructions.
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team.

Certificates

• Lock out Tag out certification (will train and certify internally)
• Pallet jack or forklift certification (will train and certify internally)

The pay range for this position is $19.38 to $23.46 per hour.
