Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to deliver timely, compassionate care to sexual assault victims. The exam may include medical-forensic assessment, pregnancy prophylaxis, STI prevention, documentation, and referrals for follow-up and legal support.

The candidate should be a BSN-educated RN licensed in Texas, with SANE certification (or in-progress within 6 months) and TNCC (or within 6 months). ED/acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing- BSN preferred.
• Two years of Emergency Department or Acute Care Experience, preferred.
• Valid and Current Texas RN license.
• Current SANE certification from the Texas Attorney General or in-progress within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC, or required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The SANE will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim.
• The SANE exam may include a medical-forensic exam, pregnancy prophylaxis, STIs, photos, and referrals for follow-up and legal proceedings.
