I Want the News is seeking a team member for a Subway-style quick service role in Wisconsin. The position focuses on greeting guests, preparing food, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Lead opportunities may develop as you gain experience. Responsibilities include taking orders, operating a computerized POS, handling payments, restocking, and maintaining clean, safe food preparation areas.
This position serves and greets guest, prepares food, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position. Lead position opportunities are available upon completion of necessary requirements.
Prepares food neatly, accurately, and in a timely way. Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains it to guests accurately. Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with guests. Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift. Cleans as directed and performs duties outlined on the daily checklist during appropriate time periods. Greets guests and prepares their orders, uses Point of Sales system/cash register to record the order and computes the amount of the bill, collects accurate payment from guests, and makes accurate change. Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas, and procedures as outlined in the Subway Operations Manual and the Policy and Procedure book. Accounts for all forms of money, bread, etc. during the shift. Understands and adheres to proper handling, safety, and sanitization standards while preparing and serving food and clean up procedures. Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Operations Manual. Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
Some high school or equivalent work experience required. Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions. Must be able to operate a computerize Point of Sales system/cash register.
Must be able to work any area of the restaurant. Ability to work in confined spaces. Bending/twisting and reaching. Lifting and carrying 50 pounds or less. Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and stooping. Talking and hearing; use of the telephone.
