Job summary

TransTech Energy is seeking a Shop/Yard Laborer - Sandblaster & Industrial Painting in Rocky Mount, NC. The role supports fabrication through surface preparation, blasting, painting, and material movement.

You will help keep the yard organized, move materials, and assist fabricators while upholding safety standards. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and experience with hand/tools, measurement reading, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, fabrication, industrial, or labor-intensive environments preferred.
• Experience using common hand tools and power tools is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Support fabrication operations by preparing, blasting, cleaning, painting, and handling steel products and equipment.
• Assist with material movement, shop organization, loading and unloading, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Operate forklifts safely and perform general tool/equipment inspections.
