Job summary

TransTech Energy in Rocky Mount, NC seeks a Shop/Yard Laborer - Sandblaster & Industrial Painting to support fabrication operations and handle material movement in a safe, efficient environment.

The role involves blasting, painting, yard organization, and equipment operation, with responsibilities ranging from loading trucks to surface prep and coating application. A HS diploma and mechanical aptitude are preferred for this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Organize and maintain the fabrication yard and storage areas.
• Assist fabricators, welders, and fitters as needed.
• Identify and stage materials for production.
• Maintain clean work areas and remove scrap materials.
• Perform general housekeeping throughout the facility.
• Prepare steel for coating by degreasing, solvent cleaning, grinding, wire brushing, sanding, and masking.
• Operate abrasive blasting equipment to SSPC/NACE standards and inspect surfaces.
• Apply primers and finish coats using spray, brushes, or rollers; measure film thickness.
