Blackeagle Energy Services LLC is seeking a Sandblaster for its fabrication shop in Cincinnati, OH. The role prepares surfaces for painting, using heavy equipment, grinding tools, and high-pressure media blasting equipment.

You will follow data sheets, operate blasting gear, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Expect to wear PPE such as full-face masks, perform surface prep, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years previous industrial sandblasting experience or training.
  • Experience working with or removing heavy metals is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SSPC surface preparation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Remove old paint, rust, scale, and other contaminants from structural steel, piping and vessels.
  • Prepare work area including taping, sanding, surface prep, and mixing, etc.
  • Ensure the correct use of sandblasting media materials.
  • Utilize Fresh Air or Full-Face Masks and Tyvek Suits (PPE) to perform duties.
  • Read and interpret product data sheets.
  • Operate and understand sandblasting equipment.
  • Operate a pneumatic DA sander, mixing drill etc.
  • Perform surface inspections to identify imperfections and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain and clean sandblasting equipment regularly.
  • Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring they are clean and free of debris.
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure job requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Promote and adhere to company safety protocols and regulations.
  • Support and exemplify the company’s mission and values in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Must be able to wear and operate the required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
