Job summary

Covia seeks a dynamic Utility Operator for our Pevely, MO sand mine and mineral processing site. You will ensure safe, productive operation of plant equipment, backfill operator roles as needed, and support maintenance activities essential for continuous production.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, English literacy, prior mining/processing equipment experience, and a proven safety record. The role involves outdoor work, confined spaces, and routine equipment and paperwork

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Literacy in English, both verbally and written.
• Previous mining experience preferred.
• Processing equipment experience in sand production.
• Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment.
• Commitment to safety with risk management experience.
• Team player to deliver targets.

Responsibilities

• Comply with MSHA CFR safety rules and site procedures.
• Operate and inspect equipment safely to maintain production and quality.
• Support production orders, quotas, and complete paperwork accurately.
• Assist Plant Maintenance and perform preventive maintenance.
• Handle bagging, packaging, loading and shipping of sand products as directed.
• Work outdoors year-round and in confined spaces or at heights as needed.]
