Job summary

Covia is seeking a dynamic Utility Operator at our Dividing Creek location to ensure safe and productive operation of the plant. The role backs up all operator positions, supports production orders, and assists the maintenance crew as required.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, English literacy, and prior mining operations experience, preferably in sand, with a proven safety mindset and teamwork ability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Literacy in English, both verbally and written.
• Previous experience within mining operations (preferably sand).
• Prior exposure to an understanding of operational equipment in sand.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks.
• Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver set targets.

Responsibilities

• Comply with MSHA Regulations as outlined in CFR and site safety procedures.
• Follow safety instructions for supervision at the site.
• Adhere to site procedures and management instructions.
• Ensure work is conducted safely to avoid exposure to risk.
• Operate equipment efficiently to prevent damage, downtime, and quality issues.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely to support production orders and quality.
• Assist with plant maintenance and maintain housekeeping at the site.
• Perform duties of packaging, shipping, bulk, and control room as required by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
