Job summary

Ascent Aerospace, LLC is seeking a Sandblasting Operator to support aerospace manufacturing by preparing, cleaning, and finishing fabricated parts. The role operates sandblasting equipment to remove coatings, rust, and contaminants while upholding strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include loading, unloading, and moving materials, inspecting parts, and maintaining equipment. Applicants must meet export controls as a US person and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Experience operating sandblasting or abrasive blasting equipment.
  • Ability to read work orders and follow detailed instructions.
  • Knowledge of shop safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required

  • Keep work areas clean and organized following 6S and safety practices.
  • Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist fabrication, assembly, and production teams as needed.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare aerospace components.
  • Load, unload, and move materials throughout the fabrication shop.
  • Prepare parts for welding, machining, painting, or assembly.
  • Inspect parts before and after blasting for quality and defects.
  • Maintain blasting equipment and perform routine cleaning and maintenance.

  • Work with safe manufacturing processes and understanding that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area
  • Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area
