Job summary

Mission Federal Credit Union in San Diego, CA is seeking a part-time Senior Teller to join our team on-site. You will perform a mix of teller duties and platform support, delivering friendly, accurate service while educating members on financial products and digital tools.

As a Senior Teller, you will balance cash drawers, open new accounts, process transfers, and support sales goals through referrals. The role requires at least 12 months in retail or customer service or 6 months in a financial

Qualifications

• 12 months of retail and/or customer service experience, or
• 6 months of experience in a financial institution or similar industry.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Balance cash drawers and support end-of-day branch balancing activities.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, wires, official checks, and cash advances.
• Open new accounts, shares, and credit card accounts; conduct needs-based conversations.
• Educate members on digital banking tools and self-service channels.
• Follow up with members to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for referrals.
• Support branch and individual sales goals through cross-selling that benefits members.

Senior Teller

On-Site | San Diego, CA

Compensation: $22.00 - $23.50 an hour, plus incentives

Actual compensation within this range will be determined by factors including experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and other job-related considerations permitted by law.

Please note: This position is part-time.

As a Senior Teller, you'll serve as both a teller and platform representative, providing members with comprehensive financial support and guidance. If you enjoy building relationships, solving problems, educating members on financial products, and working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Member Service & Relationship Building

• Welcome and engage every member with a warm, professional attitude.
• Process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including:
• Deposits
• Withdrawals
• Transfers
• Loan payments
• Wire transfers
• Official checks
• Cash advances
• Gift cards
• Open new accounts, shares, and credit card accounts.
• Conduct needs-based conversations to identify products and services that best fit members' financial goals.
• Educate members on digital banking tools and self-service channels.
• Follow up with members to ensure satisfaction and uncover additional opportunities to help.
• Support branch and individual sales goals through referrals and cross-selling that genuinely benefit members.

Operations & Compliance

• Balance cash drawers and support end-of-day branch balancing activities.
• Prepare account-opening and credit card documentation accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Protect member information and company assets by following all security procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA compliance.
• Assist team members with research and resolving balancing discrepancies.
• Participate in branch meetings, community events, and sales initiatives.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least:
• 12 months of retail and/or customer service experience, or
• 6 months of experience in a financial institution or similar industry.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cash handling experience.
• Sales or cross-selling experience.
• Experience in a retail banking or credit union environment.
• Familiarity with Symitar.
