Job summary

Armstrong World Industries in Gilberts, IL, is seeking a Turf Samples Supervisor to lead the Samples Department and a small team in a hands-on manufacturing setting. You will own the end-to-end sample process, from scheduling to shipment coordination, collaborating with clients, sales reps, engineering, and production.

The role requires 1+ years of scheduling in manufacturing, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required; college degree preferred.
  • 1+ years scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including file management and organization.
  • Clear, concise communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the Samples schedule.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and reps on sample requirements.
  • Coordinate and close out sample shipments.
  • Work with engineering on custom samples.
  • Maintain and order sample inventory.
  • Create, document, and maintain sample assembly methods.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with product and assembly of product.
  • Review and ensure quality of samples.

What does a Turf Samples Supervisor do?

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated computer skills, including file management and organization.
  • Clear, concise communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Work Environment
  1. Office Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. No PPE is required.
  2. Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
