Job summary

ALS is looking for a Sample Preparation Technician (P2) in the Sample Preparation Department to handle client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

You will perform tasks such as ringing, sieving, crushing, loading ovens, and maintaining logs under supervision, while complying with safety policies and contributing to a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs; sometimes continuously (assistance may be required).
• General office work with periodic sedentary responsibilities.
• Be cleanly-shaven to wear protective equipment.

About the role

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision
• Maintain own production logs;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• May assists with layout duties/tasks
• Handling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc.;
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required;
• analytical quality
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.
