Job summary

ALS Limited in North Las Vegas is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician (P2) to work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

You will perform ringing, sieving, crushing, and splitting under supervision, load drying ovens, and maintain production logs. The role also involves maintaining lab cleanliness, assisting with layout tasks, and handling special sample prep requests while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasional assistance required for heavier lifts.
• Desk-based tasks as part of general office work.
• Be cleanly-shaven to wear protective equipment.

About the role

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician (P2) will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision
• Maintain own production logs;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• May assists with layout duties/tasks
• Handling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc;
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required;analytical quality Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

About you

• Good hand-eye coordination
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Basic alpha/numeric comprehension
• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal).

Required Qualifications
