Job summary

AmSpec Services is seeking a staff member to handle samples—receiving, logging, tracking, storing, and disposing of specimens in a controlled laboratory environment. This role requires strict adherence to API procedures and EPA regulations, with a focus on accurate reporting and safety compliance.

The position emphasizes performing duties under the guidance of the Laboratory manager, maintaining organized storage areas, and participating in monthly safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and clearly communicate in English.
• Ability to interpret various written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Familiarity with basic word processing and spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Log in, track, store and dispose of all samples.
• Maintain correct storage and disposal procedures per API and EPA guidance.
• Prepare reports pertaining to samples.
• Keep the retention and storage area clean and safe.
• Attend monthly safety meetings.
• Work under supervision and follow laboratory manager instructions.
