Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) is seeking a Sample Control Group Lead to provide hands-on leadership for daily operations of the Sample Control department. Responsibilities include receiving, logging, storing, tracking and disposition of client samples, coordinating bottle kit orders, and maintaining regulatory compliance and quality requirements.

The role emphasizes leading a team, ensuring accuracy in LIMS workflows, and communicating performance metrics to management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher with leadership experience.
• Experience leading teams in a production or laboratory setting.
• Ability to ensure SOP compliance and drive accountability.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receipt, verification, login, and tracking of environmental samples in LIMS.
• Ensure proper labeling and chain-of-custody throughout workflow.
• Coordinate distribution of samples to staff to support operations.
• Manage storage and disposal per regulatory requirements and holding times.
• Coordinate shipment of subcontracted samples to approved labs.
• Monitor inventory and budget-related documentation; order supplies.
• Prepare department performance metrics and TAT reports for leadership.
• Participate in EH&S programs and audits; support corrective actions.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, assign work, monitor performance, and coach staff.
• Support training coordination and annual performance evaluations.
• Maintain processes to ensure holding times and regulatory commitments are met.
• Oversee movement of samples from storage to disposition; ensure procedures compliance.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local regulations and accreditation standards (NELAC/TNI).
• Act as liaison during audits and support audit responses.
• Lead continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, data quality, and customer service.
