Job summary

TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, TN is seeking a dedicated RN for our Same Day Surgery team. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families about the procedure, and lead patient preparation including IV therapy and preoperative medications.

You will participate in surgical site verification, monitor patients, respond to emergencies, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and consistently apply the nursing process to deliver safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS must be obtained within 30 days.
• RN license in good standing required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Lead patient preparation, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while following evidence-based practices.
• Be part of an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, and more.
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout shift, and document changes comprehensively.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up measures.
