Job summary

Trinity Health Hospital in Minot, ND seeks an RN for Same Day Surgery to provide pre- and post-operative care for outpatient procedures. You will assess, educate, administer meds, and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure safe discharge planning.

The role requires ND or compact RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS within 6 months, and TNCC after PACU orientation, with experience in critical care preferred.

Qualifications

• Current ND RN license or compact RN licensure.
• BLS certification within orientation period.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months in department.
• TNCC course to be completed after PACU orientation.
• RN program licensure evidenced.

Responsibilities

• Perform focused pre-operative assessments, review patient histories, and prepare patients for surgery.
• Monitor patients in post-anesthesia and recovery phases, evaluating airway, vitals, pain, nausea and stability.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered, documenting care in the EHR.
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical preparation, post-procedure expectations, pain management, and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative teams to ensure efficient patient flow and safety.
• Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement efforts to enhance perioperative services.
