Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Same Day Surgery. You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate families, and manage preoperative processes including IV therapy and site verification.

You will work with a dynamic team to ensure safety and high-quality care throughout the perioperative period. You will participate in universal protocols, time-outs, and debriefings while applying evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• RN licensed and registered in good standing.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required within specified timelines.
• Associate degree in nursing or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support care.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
