Job summary

PYP in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced yard and equipment operator to move salvage vehicles through all operation stages. You will maintain grounds, update inventory with scan gun and tablets, and support dismantling and yard operations.

Daily duties include safety checks, loading, and coordinating with dispatch and management to ensure timely work orders. The role requires 1+ year experience with heavy equipment, basic tech skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in heavy equipment operations.
• Must possess basic technology competence (scan gun, tablet/phone applications).
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Must possess the ability to stay calm, cool and collected in a high pressure fast paced work environment.
• Must work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperational inspections to ensure equipment is safe for work.
• Operate equipment safely in areas with pedestrians and vehicle traffic (wheel loader, car crusher, skid loader, forklift, etc.).
• Check fluids daily and lubricate equipment; report findings to management.
• Prioritize and plan workload to prevent delays in operations.
• Use forks on wheel loader to unload car haulers and stage cars for inventory, dismantle and cuts.
• Use bucket to remove snow and maintain grounds (access roads, drainage, yards).
• Assist with regulation compliance and quality assurance of dismantled vehicles before unloading.
• Load Processing rack with unprocessed cars; process and crush vehicles for disposal.
• Assist with safety and regulation compliance; maintain vehicle location accuracy.
• Follow dispatch tasks and communicate delays to management and teammates.
