Job summary

McClatchy Content Innovation Lab is seeking a Saltwater South Content Specialist to develop engaging stories and features celebrating the Coastal South. You will write high-quality content about food, travel, recreation and communities, using data and AI-enabled tools to discover trends and craft resonant stories.

You’ll work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, pitching, researching, reporting, and fact-checking to maintain authenticity and creativity in daily

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, experience, skills to perform the job.
3+ years of professional experience in content creation, writing or journalism.
Strong writing, editing and organizational skills.
Ability to use data and AI-powered tools to guide work.
Collaborative and curious with teamwork

Responsibilities

Develop and produce compelling stories, guides and features highlighting the Coastal South.
Collaborate with the team to experiment with new formats and distribution strategies.
Use audience analytics to inform storytelling and connect with communities.
