Job summary

Western Midstream is seeking a Water Field Tech to ensure the safe, efficient operation of saltwater disposal facilities. You will monitor injection wells, operate pumps and pipelines, perform routine maintenance, and ensure all activities comply with regulatory and environmental standards.

The role requires 1–3 years in oilfield operations, knowledge of injection wells and mechanical systems, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of oilfield operations experience preferred.
• Knowledge of injection wells, pumps and basic mechanical systems preferred.
• Understanding of oil & gas safety practices and environmental regulations preferred.
• Ability to read gauges, meters and basic schematics preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor saltwater disposal wells, pumps, tanks, and associated equipment.
• Inject produced water in accordance with permit limits and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor pressures, flow rates, volumes, and temperatures to ensure safe operations.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities, pipelines, valves, and meters.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, motors, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, injection volumes, and pressure records.
• Collect water samples and assist with testing as required.
• Respond to alarms, spills, leaks, or operational upsets in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with production, trucking, and field operations personnel.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies.
• Maintain housekeeping at SWD locations.
