Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Manager within its State and Local Tax practice to advise clients on SALT implications for business objectives and compliance. The role emphasizes marketing, networking, and consulting with Core Tax Partners to deliver SALT solutions across state lines.

The position involves supervising SALT staff, developing tax strategies, and leading engagements while ensuring high-quality tax reporting and client service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in business preferred.
• Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation or JD preferred.
• Four years of SALT/multistate experience or equivalent.
• CPA certification or other relevant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research complex state and local tax issues and prepare clear reports.
• Conduct tax return reviews and identify significant SALT issues.
• Draft tax memoranda, opinions, and other documentation on tax matters.
• Negotiate settlements, manage state tax audits, and develop consulting strategies.
