Job summary

Publicis Re:Sources seeks an experienced SALT professional to own the day-to-day execution of the U.S. state income and franchise tax function, covering ~200 returns, direct ownership of state audits, and ongoing identification of exposures.

The role offers high visibility and a clear path to full ownership of the SALT function. You will collaborate with federal tax, accounting, and finance teams, handling complex compliance, audits, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of state & local tax experience, Big 4 or strong regional firm background preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing multi-state income/franchise tax returns.
• Direct experience managing state tax audits and drafting IDR responses.

Responsibilities

• Own state income/franchise tax compliance across ~200 returns; manage data gathering, filing calendar, and reviews.
• Lead state tax audits and notices; interact with auditors and draft submissions.
• Document state tax positions; prepare concise memoranda and align with federal tax team.
• Improve organization and workflow for state compliance; develop standard workpapers.
• Collaborate with federal tax, accounting, and finance teams; support state tax provision.
