Job summary

EisnerAmper seeks a Tax Director for our State & Local Tax team to lead multistate compliance and consulting work, guiding clients and staff with technical tax expertise. You will contribute to thought leadership, technology initiatives, and mentoring of team members.

Responsibilities include residency issues, sales tax studies, audit defense, and analyzing state tax legislation while coordinating with other tax professionals and clients to deliver value across engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
• CPA, EA, or JD.
• 10+ years of experience in state taxation.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Master's degree in Accounting or equivalent field (preferred).
• State income tax experience (preferred).
• Experience with state tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis (preferred).
• Experience with tiered flow-through entities and investment vehicles (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Multistate consulting and compliance services, including technical review of state and local tax returns.
• Residency issues.
• Sales tax consulting, including nexus and taxability studies.
• Audit defense.
• Research and writing.
• Due diligence.
• Coordinating and collaborating with other in-house tax professionals and clients.
• Reviewing and consulting on pass-through entity issues including estimated payment, withholding and composite tax calculations as well as investor packages including state K-1s and grids and related filings.
• Researching and analyzing state tax legislation and its impact to clients.
• Assisting with tax planning, restructuring, and accounting for income taxes projects.
