Publicis Re:Sources in New York seeks an experienced State & Local Tax professional to own day‑to‑day U.S. state income and franchise tax compliance across ~200 returns, oversee audits, and manage exposures with independent judgment.

The role offers visibility into the SALT function and collaboration with federal tax, accounting, and finance teams to strengthen processes and reporting. Strong candidate will have 7–10+ years of SALT experience and Big 4 background.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience in state & local tax (SALT); Big 4 or strong regional firm background preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing multi-state income/franchise tax returns.
• Direct experience managing state tax audits and drafting responses.
• Ability to identify tax exposures during compliance and audit processes.
• Strong written communication, ability to produce polished memos and responses.

Responsibilities

• Own state income/franchise tax compliance for ~200 returns; coordinate with outside advisors and manage filing calendar.
• Oversee state estimated tax and extension calculations; ensure accuracy and timely submissions.
• Manage apportionment, nexus tracking, and combined reporting considerations.
• Lead state tax audits and notices; interact with auditors and draft IDR responses.
