Job summary

Rehmann Robson LLC is seeking an experienced tax professional to join our SALT team in Grand Rapids. You will lead the preparation of a broad range of individual, corporate, and other entity tax returns and conduct tax research to craft solutions for complex scenarios.

The role requires a CPA license and 8+ years of tax experience, with a passion for coaching others and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or industry.
• CPA license is required; MST is a plus.
• Expert knowledge of individual, partnership and corporate state and local income tax laws and principles.
• Working knowledge of state and local sales and use tax laws and principles.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Desire to develop unique business solutions in a team-based environment.
• Prior experience coaching and training entry-level accounting professionals.
• Passion for coaching others to higher levels of performance.
• Enthusiasm for recognizing and rewarding great work by those around you.

• Review of current operations and exemptions
• Review of current sales tax collection/exemption certificate collection
• Negotiation with state tax authorities to limit assessments
• Penalty waiver applications
• Acquisition target vetting
• Monitoring and navigating legislative changes
