Job summary

RSM US LLP seeks a State and Local Tax Manager to join our Income Franchise SALT practice. You will lead high‑value engagements, advise on nexus, multistate planning and audit defense, and partner with clients to grow the business.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a CPA license (or JD/LLM/EA), at least six years of income/franchise tax consulting, and proven mentoring and leadership skills to develop staff and cross‑sell services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or closely related field.
• CPA license in the state of residence, JD, LLM in Taxation, or Enrolled Agent required.
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience providing income/franchise tax consulting services in a Public Accounting, Consulting, or Law firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex engagements with high-value tax advice and growth opportunities.
• Advise clients on nexus, unitary and multistate tax planning, audit defense, and due diligence.
• Manage state tax compliance and consulting projects for corporate and pass-through entities.
• Deliver excellent service to clients with effective communication and teamwork.
• Mentor and coach staff, providing performance feedback and development guidance.
• Drive growth by cross-selling and expanding services within client portfolios.
