Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Senior Manager in State and Local Sales and Use Tax to deliver advisory and planning services across multiple states. The role focuses on technical expertise, talent management, and client service. The candidate will lead complex engagements, mentor staff, and drive revenue growth for the SALT practice.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in accounting (or related) and CPA/CMI/JD/LLM with 8+ years of experience. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field.
• CPA, CMI, JD or LLM required.
• Eight+ years of sales and use tax consulting experience in public accounting, consulting or law firm.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide sales and use tax advisory and planning services to multi-state companies (~60% of time).
• Grow SALT practice revenue through cross-selling and new client relationships (~30%).
• Serve as a performance advisor, mentor, or coach to staff (~10%).
• Collaborate with clients, RSM SALT teams, and other firm groups.
• Lead complex engagements with high-value tax advice and client expansion.
